Frequently Asked Questions
What is a street joke?
A street joke is the comedian term for open source, public domain jokes that people share among each other during social interactions.
Street jokes that have been edited and rehearsed can also be used by public speakers and performing artists to enhance their entertainment value.
Here is just one example of a street joke:
Two engineering students were walking across a university campus when one said, “Where did you get such a great bike?”
The second engineer replied, “Well, I was walking along yesterday, minding my own business, when a beautiful woman rode up on this bike, threw it to the ground, took off all her clothes and said, “Take what you want.”
The second engineer nodded approvingly and said, “Good choice—the clothes probably wouldn’t have fit you anyway.”
Who would benefit from taking your course?
The How To Tell A Joke Like A Pro audio training program is designed for anyone who would like to improve their joke telling skills, whether it be for conversational social situations or for integration into speeches or presentations.
Also, all course content is focused on using and delivering clean street jokes – so no profanity is used in the joke examples provided or in the course content.
Examples of the types of jokes used in the course can be found on this page.
Like most things in life there are a few great joke tellers, a few bad joke tellers and most everyone else falls somewhere in between.
This course is designed to take those who are average joke tellers and give them the actionable, step-by-step instruction they need to become great joke tellers.
Individuals who already have well developed joke telling skills may want to look at taking a shot at stand-up comedy as a means to take their sense of humor to a higher level.
If so, I would strongly recommend that those folks consume the information that is on my blog for new comedians before they do anything regarding stand-up comedy.
Why do you say that it is easy for virtually anybody to improve their joke telling ability?
There are a number of reasons I can say that:
- Street jokes are available to anyone in the public domain and represent already developed comedy material.
- It is easy to learn how to select the best jokes.
- It is easy to learn how to edit, adjust and adapt jokes to your own natural speaking manner.
- It is easy to learn how to properly prepare in advance in order to get the biggest laughs possible when telling a joke.
Learning how to be a great joke teller does not require comedy talent in the same way that becoming a comedian does for several reasons:
- Street jokes are ready made comedy material that have the same basic structure, both on paper and when being delivered.
- There is usually just one main punchline at the end of a street joke (in contrast to stand-up comedy where a comedian needs to generate 4-6+ laughs per minute with their stand-up comedy routine).
- The timing pauses are the same for virtually all street jokes.
So it only takes some guidance and actionable information (along with some rehearsal time) to noticeably improve your joke telling skill and ability easily and quickly.
That’s what the How To Tell A Joke Like A Pro audio training program is about – taking you step-by-step through the process for becoming a great joke teller in the shortest time possible.
Do I have to become a comedian for your methods to work for me?
Absolutely not. The How To Tell A Joke Like A Pro audio training program is designed to show individuals how to improve their skills and enhance the laughter results they get when telling street jokes.
There is much more involved with developing stand-up comedy material from scratch to delivery on stage than knowing how to select, edit and deliver street jokes for big laughs during social interactions or during speeches or presentations.
Can you guarantee that your techniques and methods will work for me?
Here’s what I can guarantee without hesitation:
I can guarantee that if you are unable to make noteworthy progress in your joke telling abilities as a result of using and applying the methods and techniques provided in the course, there is not another book, course or system on the planet that can help you to improve your joke telling ability.
Are the techniques and methods that you teach difficult?
Absolutely not. The strategies that I teach are not difficult at all, even though some of the techniques and methods that I provide in the course are exactly the same as those used by professional comedians to generate the big laughs they perform for audiences.
How fast can I get results using your methods?
You can start getting results using the information provided in my program as quickly as you are able to select, edit and test a single street joke.
It will take a couple of hours to completely review the course materials one time. It can take the same amount of time to locate, select, edit and prepare to deliver a single street joke, especially in the beginning.
Then there is the time it will take to test a joke on a few people to see if it is a keeper or it needs to be tossed.
This course was designed to be consumed and applied by working professionals who only have 3 hours or less per week to devote to improving their joke telling ability.
So I would say that virtually everyone should be able to experience a noticeable improvement in their joke telling ability within 1-2 weeks, provided they are implementing the methods and techniques provided in the course during this time period.
